Timehop is the beloved app that unearths your digital time capsule in daily, bite-sized portions, used by 19 million people around the world.

As a member of the design team from 2016 to 2018, I was able to work across all departments and projects working on UI/UX design, illustration, animation, marketing design, branding, and social media assets.

Timehop’s personal feed redesign. We transitioned from a vertical to a horizontal scroll motivated both by common UI patterns, the increasing adoption of vertical ratios, and business goals that would allow us to showcase full-screen ads.

As part of our marketing strategy, our social media became the go-to place for nostalgia. Old songs, puns, ‘remember this’ and funny tweets from our users became the source of inspiration to create engaging social media content.

Worked closely with the sales & marketing team to create and adjust partnership ads (Audible, Starbucks, Dunkin’ Donuts, Disney, etc.) as well as in-house ads to promote new features and prompt users to share their memories.

The onboarding flow was one of the biggest pain points for Timehop. Based on user feedback and user interviews, I developed — along with the product team — a new flow for our users to onboard and allow access to as many social profiles as possible in a less painful and time-consuming manner.
